Mark Horne, MD

A native and lifelong resident of Laurel, Dr. Mark Horne graduated from Jones College in 1982 and Mississippi College in 1984 with a BS in Biology and received his MD from UMMC in 1988. After completing an Internal Medicine residency in Chattanooga TN, he returned to Laurel in 1992 where he maintains a General Internal Medicine practice. Since 2018, he has also served as Chief Medical Officer of South Central Medical Center in Laurel. Dr. Horne has served on the Board of Trustees of MSMA for several years, including time as Secretary-Treasurer of the Board, Vice Chair of the Board, Secretary of the Association and for 2020-2021 as President of MSMA.

A veteran of the Mississippi and Tennessee Army National Guard and active member of First Baptist Church in Laurel, Dr. Horne continues to live in Laurel with his wife, Danita Horne. They have three children, Sabine, Kiser and Fletcher.
