Speaker: Dr. Courtney Huval - Dr. Courtney Huval was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. She stayed in her hometown to complete her undergraduate studies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette as a Ragin Cajun majoring in Biology. She then moved to Shreveport, Louisiana, to complete medical school at LSU Health. She quickly learned that neurology, specifically MS, was her passion. She completed her residency in Neurology and a fellowship in MS at the University of Virginia. After completing her training, she was eager to return to serve patients in the south, which led her to UMMC. At UMMC, she is an assistant professor of Neurology and the assistant program director of the UMMC neurology residency program. She has a passion for education and is excited to spend time with us today.
